Inbox Overview
The hejGuide inbox organizes all guest messages into conversations grouped by booking. Each conversation shows the guest name, listing, message source, and a preview of the latest message so you can quickly scan and prioritize your replies.
Navigating the inbox
When you open Messages from the sidebar, you will see a list of conversations on the left side. Each conversation entry shows:
- Guest name and the listing they booked
- Source icon -- indicates whether the conversation is via email, Booking.com, or Airbnb
- Message preview -- the first line of the most recent message
- Timestamp -- when the last message was sent or received
- Unread badge -- a visual indicator for conversations with unread messages
Click any conversation to open the full message thread on the right side of the screen.
Unread messages
New incoming messages are marked as unread automatically. The Messages item in the sidebar shows a badge with the total number of unread conversations, so you can see at a glance if anything needs your attention.
Once you open a conversation, its messages are marked as read.
Filtering conversations
A row of tabs at the top of the conversation list lets you switch between views:
- All -- Every conversation.
- Active stays -- Conversations for guests who are currently in-house.
- Team -- Internal team conversations (shown when you have any).
- Unread -- Only conversations with unread messages.
- Tagged -- Only conversations you've flagged for reply.
- Archived -- Conversations you've archived out of the main list.
The Active stays and Team tabs appear only when there's something to show in them.
Below the tabs is a search box ("Search conversations...") that searches across guest names, listing names, and team conversation titles.
TIP
Use the Tagged tab as your follow-up list: flag a conversation when you read it but can't reply yet, then clear the flag once you've responded.
Team conversations
In addition to guest messages, the inbox supports internal team conversations. If you have team members on your account, you can message them directly from the inbox without leaving the dashboard.
Team conversations appear in the same conversation list alongside guest messages, making it easy to coordinate on bookings and tasks without switching to a separate tool.
Conversation thread
When you open a conversation, you will see the full message history in chronological order. Each message shows:
- Who sent it (you or the guest)
- The date and time
- The message content
- Any attachments
Your sent messages appear on one side and guest messages on the other, making it easy to follow the conversation.
