When you subscribe to a paid plan, hejGuide guides you through a secure checkout process.
Private vs Business
At checkout, you can toggle between Private and Business billing:
- Private — standard checkout for individual hosts
- Business — adds fields for Company Name and VAT Number
TIP
If you select Business and enter a valid EU VAT number, your company details are automatically filled in from the EU VIES database. This saves time and ensures your invoice details are correct.
VAT Handling
VAT is applied based on your location and business status:
| Situation | VAT Treatment |
|---|---|
| EU customer (private) | Local VAT rate applies |
| EU business with valid VAT number | Reverse charge — no VAT charged |
| Non-EU customer | No VAT charged |
The applicable VAT amount (if any) is shown clearly on the checkout page before you confirm payment.
Payment Methods
hejGuide supports the following payment methods:
- Credit card — Visa, Mastercard, American Express
- Apple Pay — available on supported devices and browsers
- iDEAL — popular Dutch payment method; creates a SEPA Direct Debit mandate for recurring payments
WARNING
When paying with iDEAL, a SEPA mandate is created automatically. This means future subscription payments are collected via SEPA Direct Debit from your bank account. You can update your payment method at any time from the Billing page.
After Payment
Once your payment is processed:
- You are redirected back to the hejGuide dashboard
- A confirmation message is shown with your new plan details
- All features of your new plan are available immediately
- An invoice is generated and sent to your email address
