First Login
This guide walks you through your first time logging into hejGuide -- from signing in with your credentials to setting up your profile and finding your way around the dashboard.
Logging in
- Open your browser and go to your hejGuide dashboard URL (e.g.,
dashboard.hejguide.com). - Enter your email address and click Continue. We email you a 6-digit sign-in code -- type it in to log in. No password required.
- Or sign in with Continue with Google / Continue with Apple.
Your session stays active for 7 days, and a remember-me cookie keeps you signed in for 30 days -- so you do not need to log in every time you visit.
TIP
hejGuide is passwordless by default. If you have set a password, you can choose Log in with a password instead on the login page. Setting a password is optional -- see Setting or Changing Your Password.
Navigating the dashboard
Once you are logged in, you will see the main dashboard with several key areas:
- Sidebar (left) -- This is your main navigation. It contains links to all your modules: Listings, Calendar, Bookings, Messages, and more. On smaller screens, the sidebar collapses to icons only, and on mobile devices it becomes an off-canvas menu.
- Top bar -- Contains the global search bar and your account menu. The search bar lets you find anything -- reservations, listings, tasks, messages -- from a single place. Press / to focus search instantly.
- Main content area -- Displays the page you are currently viewing, starting with the dashboard overview.
The modules visible in the sidebar depend on your subscription plan. As you activate new features, they will appear automatically.
TIP
hejGuide has keyboard shortcuts for common actions. Press ? anywhere to see the available shortcuts, or visit Search & Keyboard Shortcuts to learn more.
Setting a password (optional)
hejGuide signs you in passwordless (emailed code) or via Google / Apple, so you don't need a password. If you'd like one as a second way to sign in:
- Open Profile → Security (
/profile/security). - In the password section, choose Set a password (or Change password if you already have one).
- Enter your new password and confirm it, then click Save.
WARNING
Choose a strong password and never share it. You can also enable Two-Factor Authentication here for an extra layer of security.
Setting up your profile
Complete your profile so that guests and team members can identify you:
- Open Profile → Account (
/profile/account). - In the Profile section, you can update:
- Name -- Your full name, displayed in communications and team views.
- Phone number -- A contact number (useful if team members need to reach you).
- Avatar -- Upload a profile photo by clicking the avatar placeholder and selecting an image from your computer.
- Click Save to apply your changes.
Setup wizard
When you first register, hejGuide guides you through a setup wizard that walks you through the essential steps:
- Profile -- Your name and account type (personal or business).
- Property -- Add your first listing with details, address, and amenities.
- Calendar sync -- Import your bookings from Airbnb or Booking.com using iCal URLs.
- Photos -- Upload up to 10 photos of your property.
- Pricing -- Set your nightly rate and check-in/out times.
- Guidebook (optional) -- Create a digital guidebook with WiFi info and house rules.
- Local Guide (optional) -- Add recommended restaurants, activities, and services.
You can skip any step and come back to it later. After the wizard, your dashboard shows a progress checklist with the remaining steps so you never lose track.
TIP
Calendar sync is the most impactful step -- once connected, your bookings from other platforms will appear automatically in your hejGuide calendar.
