Two-Factor Authentication
Add an extra layer of security to your hejGuide account with two-factor authentication (2FA). When enabled, after you sign in you'll also need a verification code from your phone to finish logging in.
Setting Up 2FA
- Go to Profile → Security (
/profile/security) - Find the Two-Factor Authentication section
- Click Set Up 2FA
- Scan the QR code with an authenticator app on your phone:
- Google Authenticator
- Authy
- Microsoft Authenticator
- 1Password
- Any TOTP-compatible app
- Enter the 6-digit verification code from your app
- Click Enable
WARNING
Save your recovery codes in a safe place. If you lose access to your authenticator app, you'll need these codes to log in.
Logging In with 2FA
- Sign in as usual (emailed login code, SSO, or password)
- You'll be prompted for a verification code
- Open your authenticator app and enter the current 6-digit code
- You're logged in
Disabling 2FA
- Go to Profile → Security (
/profile/security) - In the Two-Factor Authentication section, click Disable 2FA
- Confirm to disable it
TIP
We strongly recommend keeping 2FA enabled, especially if your account manages financial data or multiple properties.
