Two-Factor Authentication

Add an extra layer of security to your hejGuide account with two-factor authentication (2FA). When enabled, after you sign in you'll also need a verification code from your phone to finish logging in.

Setting Up 2FA

1. Go to Profile → Security (/profile/security)
2. Find the Two-Factor Authentication section
3. Click Set Up 2FA
4. Scan the QR code with an authenticator app on your phone:
   • Google Authenticator
   • Authy
   • Microsoft Authenticator
   • 1Password
   • Any TOTP-compatible app
5. Enter the 6-digit verification code from your app
6. Click Enable

WARNING

Save your recovery codes in a safe place. If you lose access to your authenticator app, you'll need these codes to log in.

Logging In with 2FA

1. Sign in as usual (emailed login code, SSO, or password)
2. You'll be prompted for a verification code
3. Open your authenticator app and enter the current 6-digit code
4. You're logged in

Disabling 2FA

1. Go to Profile → Security (/profile/security)
2. In the Two-Factor Authentication section, click Disable 2FA
3. Confirm to disable it

TIP

We strongly recommend keeping 2FA enabled, especially if your account manages financial data or multiple properties.
