Weekend Pricing

Weekend pricing lets you add a surcharge to Friday and Saturday nights. This is especially useful for properties in tourist destinations or leisure areas where demand is higher on weekends.

How weekend pricing works

When you enable weekend pricing on a rate plan, a surcharge is added on top of the base price (or seasonal price) for Friday and Saturday nights. All other nights of the week use the standard rate without the surcharge.

For example, if your base price is 100 per night and your weekend surcharge is 30 per night, a Monday-to-Monday stay (7 nights) would be priced as:

  • 5 weekday nights at 100 = 500
  • 2 weekend nights (Friday + Saturday) at 100 + 30 = 260
  • Total: 760

Setting up weekend pricing

  1. Go to Rates in the sidebar and open the rate plan you want to edit.
  2. Find the Weekend Pricing section.
  3. Enable weekend pricing.
  4. Set the weekend surcharge per season -- the surcharge is configured for each season individually and is added on top of that season's nightly price for Friday and Saturday nights.
  5. Click Save.

TIP

The weekend surcharge is set per season, so it stacks with seasonal pricing. If you have a summer season at 150 per night and a summer weekend surcharge of 30, Friday and Saturday nights during summer will be charged at 180 (150 + 30). A season with no surcharge configured keeps its plain nightly rate on weekends.

When to use weekend pricing

Weekend pricing makes sense when your property sees different demand patterns between weekdays and weekends:

  • Leisure destinations -- Beach houses, mountain cabins, and countryside retreats often have much higher weekend demand.
  • City apartments near entertainment -- Properties near nightlife, restaurants, or event venues may see more weekend guests.
  • Properties with mixed business/leisure guests -- If weekday guests are price-sensitive business travelers but weekend guests are leisure travelers willing to pay more.

If your property has consistent demand throughout the week, you may not need weekend pricing -- a flat nightly rate will keep things simple.

Weekend pricing and other rate rules

Weekend pricing interacts with your other pricing settings as follows:

  • Base price -- The weekend surcharge is added to the base price on Friday and Saturday nights.
  • Seasonal pricing -- The weekend surcharge is added to the seasonal price on Friday and Saturday nights, so both adjustments stack.
  • Discounts -- Percentage discounts (length-of-stay, early-bird) are applied to the total nightly rate including the weekend surcharge.
  • Availability overrides -- A specific date override always takes the highest priority, even over the weekend surcharge.

WARNING

Review your pricing carefully when combining weekend surcharges with seasonal pricing and discounts. Make sure the final calculated price for each scenario meets your expectations.
