Payment Settings
The Payments tab on a listing controls one thing: whether guests can pay online for direct bookings of this property, and which channel collects that money. The cancellation policy, deposit percentage, and payment schedule now live on the Pricing tab -- see Direct-booking terms below.
The Payments tab
- Go to Listings and click on the listing you want to edit.
- Open the Payments tab.
You'll see a single Online payment card with a master toggle:
- Online payment toggle -- Turn this on to let guests pay online for bookings of this property. It can only be switched on once a payment channel is connected.
- Payment channel -- This is resolved automatically. If you've connected Stripe, card payments via Stripe are used. Otherwise, if you've added bank details, bank transfer is used. The card shows which channel is active.
If no channel is connected yet, the toggle is disabled and a Set up payments button links you to your workspace payment settings. Even without a channel, you can still record payments manually on individual bookings.
TIP
Stripe and bank details are set up once at the workspace level (Account settings → Payments), then apply across your listings. The Payments tab just decides whether each property accepts online payment.
Direct-booking terms (cancellation, deposit, schedule)
The terms that decide how much a guest pays and when are set on the Pricing tab, not here:
- Cancellation policy -- Flexible, Moderate, Strict, or Firm. This also suggests a sensible payment timing.
- When does the guest pay? -- Full payment now, or a deposit now with the balance due later.
- Deposit percentage -- The share of the total collected up front when you choose deposit + balance.
- Payment due days -- How many days before arrival the deposit and remaining balance are due.
Open the listing's Pricing tab to adjust any of these.
How payment settings connect to bookings
When a new direct booking is created for this listing, hejGuide applies the listing's terms:
- The booking total is calculated based on the rate plan, number of nights, and any extras.
- The deposit amount is calculated from the deposit percentage set on the Pricing tab.
- Payment charges are created on the booking according to the payment schedule.
- If online payment is enabled for the listing and a channel is connected, a payment link can be generated and sent to the guest.
You can always adjust the charges on an individual booking if you need to offer a custom payment arrangement.
WARNING
Bookings that come from a channel like Airbnb or Booking.com are collected by that platform -- the guest pays the OTA, and you're paid out. hejGuide doesn't process the card for those.
Setting up a payment channel
To accept online payments from guests, connect a channel in Account settings → Payments:
- Stripe -- Card payments; payouts go to your connected Stripe account.
- Bank transfer -- Add your bank details so guests can pay by transfer.
Once a channel is connected, the Online payment toggle on each listing becomes available.
